Almacerro is a small, boutique winery located in Angwin. We are looking for a solo intern to join our team for the bottling and harvest season. We produce three estate vineyard wines, a Cabernet, a Bordeaux blend and Sauvignon Blanc under the direction of Consulting Winemaker, Francoise Peschon. The 11 acres of estate fruit is farmed by the estimable Mike Wolf Vineyard Services. All work is hands on and integrated, you’ll have the opportunity to work with the fruit from cluster sampling through all processing, fermentation and the down to barrel. There will be cleaning too. There are also a small number of boutique custom crush clients and wines which are produced on site.

Job Duties:

August 1- November

•  Assisting in crush line setup, organization of fruit receiving, and management of temporary workers under guidance of Winemakers.
•  Maintain and operate crush equipment including troubleshooting, maintenance and sanitation.
•  Involved in all other harvest activities: pump-overs, barrel rolling, racking, additions, cleaning, pressing, barrel downs, barrel and tank sanitation, etc.
•  Assist with lab sampling and fermentation monitoring
•  Assist with vineyard sampling

• Non-harvest cellar operations: Topping, racking, additions, sampling, blending, bottling prep, bottling wine movements, inventory.
•  Participate in tastings with winemaking team
•  Cooperation and teamwork to accomplish wine quality and production goals
•  Maintaining a clean and safe work environment
•  Meticulous cleaning and sanitation


Personal Attributes/Requirements:
•  Ability to lift up to 50lbs
•  Attention to detail

• Availability up to 6 days a week, 12+ hours
•  Communicate in English-both written and verbal

• Reliable transportation
