Harvest Intern

O'Shaughnessy Estate Vineyard and Winery resides on a one hundred and twenty acre hillside property on Howell Mountain, that is now reaching full maturity at twenty years of age. Beginning in 1997 we planted twenty nine acres of Cabernet Sauvignon and six acres of the seven historic blending varietals, Cabernet Franc, Petit Verdot, Merlot, Malbec, Carmenere, St. Macaire and Gros Verdot. We now farm 117 acres from four vineyard sites growing nearly 20 different varieties located in the Howell, Oakville and Mt Veeder Appellations. Our sister winery Progeny resides on Mt Veeder and specializes in super luxury Cabernet Sauvignon and Rhone varietals.

Harvest interns will have the opportunity to assist our small, experienced crew with all aspects of vinification for 20 different grape varieties. This includes but is not limited to vineyard maturity sampling, fruit processing, inoculations and additions, cap management, digging tanks, draining/pressing, barrel work, lab analysis, data entry, sanitation, bottling, and general winery upkeep.

Internships typically run from August-November but will depend on the growing season. During the busiest part of harvest, interns can expect to work 6 days per week and flex between both production sites as needed. The hourly pay rate will be $20-25 plus overtime and lunch is catered once a week during crush.

Qualifications:
Successful candidates are hardworking and detail oriented. Strong communication skills, a willingness to ask questions, and the ability to follow written and verbal instructions are essential. Prior harvest experience is a plus but not required. Applicants must be committed to maintaining a safe and respectful work environment.
